Documentation Management

Documentation Management

As the old saying goes, the job isn’t over until the paperwork is done. However, the sheer volume of documentation generated by a major project can be almost overwhelming. Design, working and record drawings must be developed, and all test records signed and retained. Long after the installers have moved on to other projects, FM/ O&M staff require a Building Log Book for day to day operating requirements, and accurate, well ordered O&M manuals to carry out servicing and emergency repairs to systems and equipment.

Building Log Book or Systems Manual …

A requirement under UK building regulations is for the production of a Building Log Book which details the day-to-day operations of a building in order to achieve and maintain energy performance. A similar concept is the Systems Manual which is promoted by many US codes and guides, including USGBC LEED green building rating systems. ECOFAC can provide a Log Book or Manual intended to enhance operating practices in large buildings.
